We worked on the version of this feelgood show that aired in the Middle East for Talpa. The Wishing Tree sees children making wishes for those they think deserve them and the concept for the titles centred around came the titular tree the children hang their wishes on. We wanted to give the titles a handcrafted childlike feel and we researched origami as part of the initial idea exploration.
We used Cinema 4D for the whole project. The primary leaves were hand animated, sometimes using align to spline and the secondary leaves were put into an emitter, adding some wind and gravity to the scene to make the movement more natural. We filled out the scene with some textured cut-outs of people and foliage along the way, gently moving using deformers.
