BFI VFX Mentoring

visual effects

Four of our senior team have been mentoring participants on a new BFI Film Academy short course in Swansea recently. Christian Lett, Llyr Williams, Paul Nicholas and Peter Rogers joined mentors from fellow VFX firm Milk to provide the course’s 20 participants, aged 16-19, with tips and guidance on aspects of visual effects and motion design within film.

The NextGen Young Filmmakers Wales course was facilitated by NextGen Skills Academy as part of the BFI Film Academy – UK Network Programme, which aims to help train and inspire the next generation of British filmmakers.

This was the first time the BFI Academy has supported a VFX course for young people in Wales and the course ran for three consecutive weekends at University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s Swansea campus. On completion, participants achieved a Preparing to Work in Film Level 2 award.
